A stunning 18 hole golf course of international standard, rated among the top 3 in New Zealand. A par 72 course, designed to inspire and delight golfers at all levels of competency. The course is long (6,440m), features 11 lakes and 70 bunkers and offers a choice of 4 tees on each hole. The views are awesome, challenging players to keep their eyes on the ball. |

You can play the course comfortably in four hours, however give yourself a little longer as often golfers will take time out to soak up the views and ambience of the surroundings. You are more than welcome to walk the course. Keep in mind, as the course is spread out over 200-odd acres, the walk on average is about 9 kilometres, a little longer than most courses.
Design:
The design team comprised David Cox (Terrace Downs Project Director), Sid Puddicombe (golf architect from Canada), Noel Bain and Fin Hobbs. The front 9 holes were constructed in 1996 and the back 9 were completed in 1999.
The course designers’ key objectives have been well and truly satisfied:
- a course that everyone passionate about golf will love, where each hole has its own personality
- a challenge to the best golfers and yet still enjoyable for high handicappers
- a fair course that rewards a good shot and penalises a bad one
- a course that inspires, delights and creates a sense of exhilaration on every tee
- a course that harmonises with and enhances the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape.
Hours of Operation
Summer: 7:00am till late (earlier tee times available if booked in advance)
Winter: Times vary depending on weather conditions and frosts.
